基本介紹 Introduction

　　台東樂山位於台東平原南部知本山區，左為中央山脈，右為太平洋，面對北方為台東平原北部的海岸山脈。地勢型態左高山右海洋，由北向南緊縮於樂山，海拔高約815公尺，位於西川山與羅打結山之間，可俯瞰知本溪流域，遠眺台東平原以及海岸山脈，可觀察沿中央山脈東側南飛及沿太平洋海岸通過的鷹群。林相以次生林及檳榔、咖啡、柑橘類等果園為主。

     YaoShan is located in a mountain area of ZhiBen in southern Taitung Plain with the Central Mountain Range on the left side and the Pacific Ocean on the right. It is a promontory with an elevation of 815 m and a vantage point between Xichuanshan and Luodajieshan to overlooking ZhiBen River Basin, Taitung Plain and the Coastal Mountain Range. Raptors migrate from the east of Central Mountain Range to the coast along the Pacific Ocean. The Vegetation of YaoShan is secondary forest and fruit gardens such as betel nuts, coffee trees and citrus.

　　台東樂山秋季遷移性猛禽的觀察早在1994年之前，由台東縣野鳥學會廖聖福和王克孝兩位鳥友開始至今。1994年之前只重欣賞而無紀錄，1994年之後才有一些零星紀錄，近年來才有比較完整的紀錄資料。台東樂山近幾年來在秋季遷移性猛禽調查上，不論是地點或數量都逐漸受到重視，主要是由於台東樂山的調查數據與屏東墾丁的調查數據相對照，有相符的現象。2002年9月15日，在樂山紀錄了44,865隻赤腹鷹過境，打破台灣地區單日觀測過境猛禽數量的紀錄，頓時引起全台的注目，樂山從此成為台灣東部首屈一指的賞鷹聖地。

     Observations of raptor autumn migration in YaoShan were being conducted before 1994 by two members of Taitung Wild Bird Federation, Liao Sheng-Fu and Wang Ke-Xiao. without any records. Raptor migrations were recorded piecemeal after 1994. And the monitoring data has been collected in recent years. YaoShan became an important raptor autumn migration watchsite after comparing the monitoring data in YaoShan to the monitoring data in Kenting, Pingtung County. On September 15, 2002, 44,865 Chinese Sparrow Hawks was recorded in YaoShan. It broke the records in Taiwan and YaoShan was quickly gaining attention all over. Since then, YaoShan became a hot spot for raptor watching.

1. 路線一 Route A

沿台九線進入知本溫泉區，過溫泉橋，看到往「白玉瀑布」和「樂山」的指標左轉蜿蜒而上，沿途大多為次生林及果園，道路坡度頗為陡峻，行車需多注意。（參考網址：http://totaitung520.pixnet.net/blog/post/245295158）

Take Provincial Highway No. 9.to ZhiBen and pass the hot spring bridge. Turn right on the signage to Baiyu Waterfall and YaoShan and be caution about driving up a steep hill along with secondary forests and fruit gardens.(See photographs, http://totaitung520.pixnet.net/blog/post/245295158)

2. 路線二 Route B

南下：從台東市沿台九線南下，經太麻里美和國小後，看到右側源天宮的牌坊，蜿蜒而上則可上樂山。沿途多為人為開發的檳榔園及果園，其餘為次生林相。

From North: Take Provincial Highway No. 9 from Taitung City to the south and pass MeiHe elementary school in Taimali Township. The entrance is on the right side of the decorated archway of YuanTian Temple. And then follow a zigzag path up to YaoShan. You can see betel nut and fruits gardens and few secondary forests when driving along the path.

北上：從太麻里沿台九線北上，經三和國小後，看到左側源天宮的牌坊，蜿蜒而上則可上樂山。沿途多為人為開發的檳榔園及果園，其餘為次生林相。

From South: Take Provincial Highway No. 9 from Taimali Township to the North and pass SanHe elementary school. The entrance is on the left side of the decorated archway of YuanTian Temple. And then follow a zigzag path up to YaoShan. You can see betel nut and fruits gardens and few secondary forests when driving along the path.

以上兩條前往樂山的路線，因沿途岔路多，而且沒有明確的標示，不易到達賞鷹點，引此有意上山賞鷹者，還是請人帶路或洽詢台東縣野鳥學會較為恰當，以免在山中迷路。

However, there are many side roads without a clear signage when taking these two directions of Route B, the bird watching spot is not easy to reach. Suggest contacting Taitung Wild Bird Federation for more information to avoid being lost.

主要遷徙猛禽種類 Main species of migratory raptors

赤腹鷹、灰面鵟鷹、東方蜂鷹、燕隼、紅隼

Chinese Goshawk (Accipiter solensis), Grey-faced Buzzard (Butastur indicus), Oriental Honey Buzzard (Pernis ptilorhynchus), Eurasian Hobby (Falco subbuteo), Common Kestrel (Falco tinnunculus)

適合賞鷹季節 Bird watching seasons for raptors in YaoShan

一年四季均可觀賞到在地留鳥：大冠鷲、鳳頭蒼鷹、松雀鷹、林鵰等。

For resident raptors: Crested Serpent Eagle (Spilornis cheela), Crested Goshawk (Accipiter trivirgatus), Besra (Accipiter virgatus), and Black Eagle (Ictinaetus malayensis) can be observed in all seasons.

春、秋季可觀賞遷移性猛禽：赤腹鷹（3-5月、9-10月）、灰面鵟鷹（3-5月、10月）、東方蜂鷹（9-10月）、燕隼（9-10月）等。

For migratory raptors: Chinese Goshawk (Accipiter solensis) (March to May, September to October), Grey-faced Buzzard (Butastur indicus) (March to May, October), Oriental Honey Buzzard (Pernis ptilorhynchus) (September to October), Eurasian Hobby (Falco subbuteo) (September to October).
