觀音山 Guanyinshan
基本介紹 Introduction
觀音山位於台灣西北端，因山形狀似側臥之觀音菩薩頭型而得名。觀音山為一火山丘陵地區，主峰海拔616公尺，東臨淡水河，北邊即為淡水河出海口，南邊為林口台地。觀音山為火山地形，主要由安山岩組成。山上有許多歷史悠久的寺廟，如凌雲寺、凌雲禪寺等，平時即香火鼎盛。有許多登山步道，是大台北地區居民休假時登山健行的去處。觀音山為遷徙猛禽春季北返時離開台灣前的最後一站，春季在此可觀察到遷徙中的鷹群。
Guanyinshan is located in northwest of Taiwan and owes its name to the resemblance it shares with a reclining Guanyin Buddha’s head. It is a volcano hill area mainly composed of andesite and faces the Danshui River on the east, the Danshui River Mouth on the north and Linkou Plateau on the south. The main peak altitude of Guanyinshan is 616 m. There are some historical temples with a large number of religious followers such as Lingyunsi and Lingyun Buddhist temple. And people live in Greater Taipei area spending their leisure time hiking in Guanyinshan because of many hiking trails there. It is the last stop in Taiwan for migratory raptors leave to the north in spring.
自林文宏在1991年發現有不少遷徙性猛禽過境觀音山後，陸續由中華民國野鳥學會、淡江大學野鳥社、台北市野鳥學會、台灣猛禽研究會等團體在此進行調查，迄今調查歷史已經超過20年。除了台灣中南部的墾丁和八卦山之外，觀音山已成為台灣北部地區最重要的猛禽過境觀察點。根據台灣猛禽研究會的紀錄，在觀音山共記錄到27種日行性猛禽。相較於台灣其他的春季猛禽觀察點，在觀音山雖然不容易欣賞到大量聚集的遷徙猛禽，但是具有猛禽遷徙期較長、能夠觀察到的猛禽種類較多等特色。
After Lin Wen-Horn observed migratory raptors passing Guanyinshan in 1991, several bird-loving groups such as Chinese Wild Bird Federation, the bird club of Tamkang Universtiy, Wild Bird Society of Taipei, and Raptor Research Group of Taiwan, conduct surveys for over 20 years. Guanyinshan has become as an important hot spot for watching migratory raptors in Northern Taiwan as Kenting in the South and Baguashan in the Central Taiwan. According to the surveys of Raptor Research Group of Taiwan, 27 kinds of raptors were recorded in Guanyinshan. Comparing to other spring migration watching sites in Taiwan, it isn’t easy to observe a large amount of raptors. But longer migrating period and more different species can be observed.

1. 蔡家調查點 Tsai-jia
猛禽會於每年3月到4月中旬會在此地調查。從64號快速道路下觀音山交流道後，左轉凌雲路上山，在「觀音山」公車站牌處右轉北56鄉道(田埔巷)往尖山方向前行，在大水池岔路口轉往八里方向約100公尺，從左側小路陡上，即可到蔡家調查點。
Raptor Research Group of Taiwan conducts spring migration at Tsai-jia every March to middle of April. Take Expressway No. 64 to Exit Guanyinshan. Turn left at Lingyun Road and turn right at a bus stop, Guanyinshan, toward a country raod North 56, Tianpu alley and keep straight toward a mountain peak. Turn by a by big water tank toward Bali, keep straight about 100 m and take left path to go uphill to Tsai-jia.
2. 翁家調查點 Weng-jia
猛禽會於每年4月中旬到5月會在此地調查。從觀音山遊客中心後方之華富山路往八里方向前行，在電杆編號()右側小路進入，沿小路上行即可到達翁家調查點。
Raptor Research Group of Taiwan conducts spring migration at Weng-jia every middle of April to May. Take Huafushan Road which is behind Guanyinshan visitor center toward Bali. Turn right at wire pole No. () and keep along the path to Weng-jia.

以春季3至5月為主，6月仍有機會看到少數遷徙中的猛禽。
Spring is bird watching season in Guanyinshan, mainly from March to April. There might be opportunities to observe migrating raptors in June.
